The Super-View was manufactured by "The Hong Kong
Viewers" company, Hong Kong, China. The viewer was almost identical to
the Gakken Pan-Pet viewer from Japan, suggesting that The Hong Kong
Viewers company may have be the original manufacturer for Gakken,
who then re-badged them, but that is only a theory.
The texture moulded into the plastic and the name
plate are the only two discernable differences between the
viewers, even the injection moulding marks on the interior are the same.
The film used for the Super-View was Fujifilm and has retained it's
colour, unlike the Japanese Gakken films, which turn magenta with age.
The user rotated a knob to advance the
film from image to image. A title naming the scene being viewed was displayed between the pictures. The pictures
were reflected into the lenses by two offset mirrors , set at 45
degrees. The light for the viewer came through the
translucent white cover. When the film has
been viewed the user had to manually re-wind it back to the start.
