The View-Master Model H was
produced between 1966 and 1981 and was only available in lighted
versions. The lenses were made from plastic. There are two distinctly
different versions, those produced in Belgium, being much squarer than
their American counterpart.
These viewers are another example of a viewer that was
produced at certain times by both Sawyers and GAF. earlier USA Model H
viewers had a snap-on back plate that acted as a battery cover, later
ones can be identified because the cover is secured by two screws. Both
the
beige Belgium and USA viewers below have a long film advance levers, which
are less
common than the short advance lever models.

Long Lever

The Belgian Model H was produced in two
variants, one with a short advance lever and the other with long advance lever
as show below.
An example of the Sawyers USA View-Master
Model H Lighted Viewer (#2062) with long advance lever. Notice the metal
plate on battery compartment cover (later housings had moulded plastic as
seen below)

Another variant of the USA GAF Model H
Lighted Viewer, this time by GAF. Not only the colour is different but also it has a short
advance lever and moulded logo on the back plate.
