The Sawyers View-Master Model F (#2026) was produced between 1959 and
1966 and originally retailed for $3.95 (reels cost 35c). It was the last
of the View-Masters to be made from bakelite. It ran from 2 'C' size
cells or an external power source. At 5.5x magnification It offered a
slightly larger view than the Model C.
The Model F was manufactured both in the USA and Belgium. There are very
few variants of this model, the only significant difference being the
size of the lettering on the battery cover (see pictures
The Belgian version has larger
letters for "LIGHTED STEREO VIEWER"
The USA version has smaller letters and a slightly
larger ® Trade Mark sign
(below the hyphen of VIEW-MASTER)
Inside the battery compartment of the
Users need to be careful not to
let go of the advance lever as it tends to pop up with such force that
it can cause a chip in the reel insertion slot, something to look out
for when buying this model of viewer.
