McDONALD'S VIEWERS

One of the most prolific companies
to use the View-Master format for promotional purposes is the McDonald's
Burger chain. Below are several examples of free gifts that have
been produced in recent years.
A simple monoscopic viewer produced by McDonald's in
2002. It measures about 5x4cm and was manufactured in China

A character given away by McDonalds in 2002. This weird
character is holding a Model L viewer. There is a trigger in his back that
causes the spring-loaded viewer to pop up to his face. The observer then
looks through a lens in the back of his head to see seven (mono) pictures
advanced by the lever on the little viewer.

Whilst the viewer below isn't a View-Master product,
the viewing element uses a very similar system. The figure was given away
in five parts by McDonalds (someone at McDonalds must be into
View-Master!) to promote Disneyland Paris in 1999. The parts are the head,
which is a stereo viewer, the body top, which is a puffer, the trousers,
which expand to become binoculars, the legs which are an ink stamp and
finally the base. (click
